Resources: Charitable Organizations,
Events & Volunteer Opportunities

Paws in Training supports the following charitable organizations.  We invite you to visit their websites to view the important work they are doing, stay updated on current pet events and find volunteer opportunities.  Working together, we can make a difference in the lives of many animals.

Presents 4 Pets Campaign

Please join Paws in Training at Unleashed, the Dog Store on Saturday, October 24th from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM and at Gourmutts Bakery on Saturday, November 7th from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.  Experts from across the pet care industry will be on hand to talk to you about pet overpopulation, nutrition, health and training.

We are joining forces with area pet sitters, the Pet Foster Network and local businesses to assist animal rescue organizations in the Triangle area.  The 3rd annual Presents 4 Pets Campaign is underway now through November 9th with the goal to collect critical items for roughly 30,000 animals living in local foster homes and shelters.

These items, (the presents) are products that rescued pets need for their daily care.  They include high-quality food, bedding, litter, litter boxes, treats, collars and leashes.  These presents give the agencies the tools they need to keep their operations running so that they can focus on the never-ending work of caring for the animals and getting them adopted.

Please visit http://www.presents4pets.org for more information including the wish list and donation drop off locations.  Even the smallest donation can make a difference.

Wake Animal Advocates Group (WAAG)

The Wake Animal Advocates Group (WAAG) supports the efforts of the Wake County Animal Center. Our goals are to increase the adoption of homeless animals into permanent homes, to prevent cruelty to animals, and to support spay/neuter programs.

Our website offers detailed information on pet safety, pet friendly housing and low cost spay/neuter programs.  Special pet events, foster home information and volunteer opportunities can also be found here. http://www.waagnc.org/index.html
